Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a form of ‘talking therapy’ that is more in depth than counselling. The therapist will work with the client to help uncover the root or foundation causes of difficulties. Psychotherapy helps people gain insight into their patterns and behaviours, and can help people to understand why they feel the way they do.

Psychotherapy can be helpful for anyone who is struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma or relationship issues.  It may also be useful for people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives and want to explore how these may be affecting them.

Psychotherapy offers people a chance to challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, which may be contributing to their distress or interfere with their ability to function in daily life. A psychotherapist will work closely with clients in order to identify any patterns that may exist in their lives, as well as helping them learn new skills so they can manage these effectively. They will be able to assist with problem solving, offering suggestions for changes in behaviour or thinking that may improve things. It’s also helpful for people who want to talk about their difficulties without feeling judged or blamed.

Psychotherapy can also give people the opportunity to discuss their relationships with others in their lives and how they may be contributing to current problems or difficulties. Our therapists provide a safe and supportive space for clients to talk about their experiences and explore new ways of behaving. They also work with people to help them learn new skills to manage difficult emotions and stressors in their lives, including exploring different ways of dealing with problems and how to overcome them.

Our Psychotherapist(s) will work collaboratively with the client(s) to develop goals and action plans that can be put into place immediately.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss further please reach out to our team or complete the self referral form.
